As a Master’s thesis student at Dometic, you will explore how product design, consumer insights, brand positioning and partnerships can make outdoor products and experiences more accessible, inclusive and relevant to broader audiences. The research focuses primarily on women to uncover overlooked needs and barriers, with the goal of informing inclusive solutions for a wider market. The project is planned for six months during the spring semester and is open to one or two students working together.

You will conduct qualitative and quantitative user research with diverse user groups, evaluate outdoor gear, and translate findings into recommendations for product design, accessibility and user experience. The work also includes developing brand and messaging recommendations, benchmarking how leading brands address inclusiveness, and identifying opportunities for future products, partnerships and innovation. You will collaborate with specialists in Group Sustainability, Global Design and Global Marketing, with mentorship from a Senior Industrial Designer.

The position is suited to students in Industrial Engineering and Management, Industrial Economics and Management, Technology and Innovation Management, Technology-based Entrepreneurship, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or a related discipline. Relevant academic or practical experience in interviews, surveys, usability testing or structured feedback analysis is required.

We value an interest in outdoor activities and camping-related products, an understanding of inclusive design, and the ability to build trust with diverse or underrepresented user groups. Curiosity, analytical thinking, communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to take ownership and work through ambiguity, are important.
